The Voices Agains Brain Cancer host first Florida based benefit concert,"Sounding off for a cure" Benefiting the Research and Support of Programs Associated with Brain Cancer. Performances by: John Stamos & The Beach Boys, Gloria Gaynor, Lou Gramm & The Osmond Brothers.
All of the evening's performances were accompanied by the University of Miami Frost School of Music's Henry Manchini Institute Symphony Orchestra. Additional performers paid tribiute toGeorge Harrison, Celia Cruze, Bob Marley and Nara Leao, all of whome have lost the battel to the brain cancer.
2011 VABC Courage Award ceremony took place and selected individuals who have demonstrated tremendouse courage in their fight agains brain cancerOther awards recipients included: Joseph D. Rosenblatt M.D. (Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center University of Miami's Interim Director), Tony Giota (Past President of Kiawanis Club of Little Havana), Pedro Martinez (Former Majore League Baseball All Star), Jorge Piasencia (Chairman and CEO of Republica) and Jesse Stoll (son of the founder of Fantasma Productions).
